What the book is about?
Don’t mistake it with a book which teaches you how to compose your photographs or gives you somebody’s personal tips and tricks to take better pictures. This book in fact, is the glossary of photography. It will help you learn the meaning of some cliché photography terms which you read and hear often but never were able to understand the concept behind them.
The book explains the factors one must keep in mind before buying a DSLR. You will get a brief idea about sensor, pixels, VR, optical and digital zoom and even the battery of the camera. It talks about the photographic keywords like aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure, focal length, depth of field, composition with such simplicity that anybody will find it easy to grasp.
Who is it for?
Definitely, for beginners need a place where all their basic questions about photography can find simple and crisp answers. In the introduction of the book, the author himself states that – ‘Learning Photography is an explanation of various aspects of Photography, not as an Expert would see them, but as a not so bright learner has learnt them.’
Who is this not for?
For those who are already well versed with the basics of photography and can compose and frame decent photographs and are looking to enhance their level of expertise beyond this.
A good thing
The book clearly states what is it all about, who shall read it and what value one can get after reading, very clearly in the beginning. This makes it easy for readers to decide whether to read it or not.
Personally, I enjoyed reading the book and learning from it. I would rate it 4 out of 5.
